TIFFIN – The Seneca County Board of Elections has certified election results from the 2017 general election.

Two races were the last to be certified: Jim Distel officially won the Clinton Township trustee position, joining Denny Moyer for the term beginning Jan. 1. Despite spending the most in the race according to some reports, Dennis Kingseed received the least amount of votes. Distel and Kingseed were within 0.1% of each other, however (647 Distel – 645 Kingseed).

Tiffin voters also decided it’s time for a change: they booted Randy Schwartz from his school board seat in exchange for a “fresh face,” Victor Perez.

Initial reports showed Perez ahead of Schwartz by less than 0.1 percent. After the recount, Perez took the seat with 1,847 votes to 1,841 for Schwartz.
