TIFFIN — For many businesses, governments, and consumers, cyber security is becoming a big concern. Incidents like the Equifax hack that happened not too long ago have brought this issue to light in the news.
The maritime industry, however, is one of the biggest targets for cyber attacks, which is why the U.S. Coast Guard is prioritizing the issue by adding maritime cyber defense to their operations.
Tiffin University hosted the 8th Annual Maritime Symposium on Monday and Tuesday. The event attracted representatives from the Navy, Air Force, eight universities, and seven countries.
The event also gave current students at TU a networking opportunity as well as the chance to learn more about a high-demand field.
