Montz: I’m proud of Tiffin for winning ‘Best Main Street Committee Event of the Year’ award

TIFFIN – According to the official Facebook page of Mayor Aaron Montz (R), Tiffin has been been selected as a recipient of the “Best Main Street Committee Event of the Year” award by Heritage Ohio at their conference in Columbus.
Tiffin’s “Around the Town” event was featured at the conference.
“So proud of the Tiffin community and all of everyone’s hard work and dedication on making our downtown shine,” Montz proclaimed in a Facebook post Tuesday evening.
“Around the Town is a wonderful event bringing together the college students and the community,” Montz said. “It is great to see our community organizations working together and our commitment to the Main Street downtown approach is paying off.”
Several Tiffin residents commented on the Mayor’s post, joining in congratulating the community.
“This is a reflection of all the hard work of the City of Tiffin’s Administration and our ancillary committees; an effort spearheaded by wonderful forward thinking Mayor. Kudos,” said Seth Gardner, a Tiffin resident.
Tiffin continues to attract praise and attention from individuals and organizations all over the nation. What can we expect in the city’s future?
Plus this information from the Advertiser-Tribune:
Tiffin became a Heritage Ohio Main Street Community in 2016, after two years of affiliate membership. The release states the program works on a four-point approach emphasizing organization, design, promotions and marketing and economic development in downtown revitalization.
Tiffin City Councilman Tyler Shuff, who manages the Laird Arcade building, said the event is a great way to introduce college students to downtown.
He said many students might be aware of where Westgate is, but he is glad the event gives them a chance to be exposed to some of the “mom-and-pop shops” downtown.
“It’s a great way to introduce the college students to what all we have to offer downtown,”Shuff said. “It’s a great thing.”
